Michael K. Jewels

Michael Kneebone's interest in the fine jewelry medium was established in 1970 while he was enrolled in a jewelry class in Deerfield, Illinois. His instructor, David Ritter quickly recognized his talent and helped him establish an apprenticeship with renowned jewelry designer Harriett Dreisiger. They worked together for three years, enabling Michael to refine fabrication and casting skills, learn how to raise silver hollow wear and cultivate various enameling skills.

After receiving his BA in jewelry from Northern Illinois University and many years experience in the commerical jewelry industry, Michael decided to strike out on his own in 1991. He created his own company, designed a line of jewelry, which he sold through Saks Fifth Avenue and other, smaller jewelry galleries across the country.
